could i cnc a piston?

If I had access to a cnc I'd be in Heaven , the year after I left highschool they got a cnc machine , guys were making wheels , all kinds of trick stuff , I'd start cranking out custom swingarms , billit beadlocks , steering stems etc . would be sick
 
Customs billet pistons are absolutely possible. I work with a guy who, while he was working at the machine shop at work, raced alky go carts. He was a competitive private racer who made his own engine parts.

He turned out a piston that weighed as little as possible. Now, his was a racing application and if he fragged his engine, it would have been at the expense of trying to put an extra HP and he would have thrown that block in the garbage and not thought twice about it...

You may be able to get the machining for free but the metal is not going to be... You need high silicone low expansion aluminum slug to begin with. That material is sort of a trade secret for particular companies. Blends are specific and difficult to decode.
