connecting rod play?

I was just wondering if the connecting rod on my blaster is supposed to have any play. If so what are the specs ? When I took apart my blaster a while a go I noticed that the connecting rod had some lateral play. NOT VERTICAL . It did not go up and down just side to side a little bit. I don't know the exact measurement of how much it moves but does anyone know if it supposed to do this . Thanks

slide it evenly to one side and measure the opposite side.
