compression questions

my blaster wont start but i want to check the compression. can i get a propper reading if the engine doesnt start? what should my compression be? and if anyone has any other helpful hints feel free.

your compression should be 120 to 130 psi
also if your checking the compression the engine wouldnt start anyways because you have to take the sparkplug out. you will get a proper reading
