Hi all.

I am currently under a complete rebuild but since it´s my first I want some advice..

I will be replacing:

Crank
Crank bearings (x2)
Crank seals

Are there anything else that would be stupid not to replace while open????

I heard that instead of only crank seals.. buy a complete seal kit and they should be able to be changed without problems..

But is there anything else that would be smart to replace?

i would do a oil block off since your going to have it apart if you don't already have it. one thing i always do is replace my studs for the cylinder and head and use new nuts. alot of people don't and its your choice but they can stretch over time from the heat.

Im already did the oil block off, when i disassembled the engine.. ... what about all the tranny bearings ? Or do i only change the crank bearings?

Is a complete rebuild ALL bearings in the case? Transmission in both engine covers and all other..

well, i wouldn't worry about the shift drum bearing, but check the balancer bearing. i'd also replace the countershaft bearing if i were you.
and def get the whole kit and just replace all seals at once, it only takes like 15 min.

Well Quam I decieded to change only the crank bearings.. but would it be a good idea to change seals also ? (can it be done while all the bearings are in?)

( I will of corse change the crank seals, but i mean the rest without removing or changeing bearings.)

it sounds like for myour other posts yo uwill need some help doing this rebuild ,is there a seasoned mechanic friend around that can walk you through these procedures
