I'm taking the ignition coil off my blaster (its a 02) for my friend who needs it, and im not excatly sure how to. I just take the hood off, disconnect the wire to the coil, unscrew the coil, and take the top off the spark plug correct?

ok

first you'll need to turn the petcock off, and undo the fuel line

then pull the hood off

then there are 4 bolts on the tank that hold it on

Remove the screws that hold on the hood, and then the ones that hold on the tank. Disconnect the fuel line from the carb and remove tank.

The coil is held on with two screws, just take the spark plug wire and boot with it (the wire is part of it)

but wheres the coil at? what does it look like. The reason i thought it was under the hood was because of the old warriors coil location.

follow the plug wire, it'll lead you to it

Seriously dude, if you are this new to the process, do yourself a favor and take some time to review the manual. It's got some good stuff in there and you will learn a ton. There is no shame in being "ignorant", but it is stupid to remain that way. As always, we are here to help.

yeah im not mechincally inclined. I can work on a carbuerator, but cant take a fuel tank off.

takes a ton more gumption to work on the carb than pull the tank....

the switch that turns the fuel off is on the petcock. you turn it off right there. should be when the petcock is in the middle

no no i understood that. and i just read the manual, and it said to remove the bolts etc. etc. whatever, ill learn as i go.

See, that is funny. Most people would be afraid of taking apart the carb. Stuff like taking off the plastics is easiest to learn by doing, so just jump in there. It helps to lay out the screws and such in the order that you remove them. Some people like to put the screws right back in the hole they came out of, if possible. That's a good plan if you are unsure.

Just remember, anything you can take apart, you can put back together as long as you paid attention in the first place.
