I just got my blasty all back together and started it up. It worked just fine and idled perfect. I had the clutch lever pulled in, and when I shifted down to first, it immediately grabbed and stalled the engine, like if you just dropped the clutch without any throttle. I tried adjusting the adjuster on the lever all the way in and then out, and it still happened. My lever has been acting up lately aswell, there's quite a bit of free play and it is a little hard to pull.

sometimes after a period of sitting, the clutch plates will stick, did you let ot warm up, and gove it a few try's ??
you may need a new cable, they stretch, if that doesn't work, you may need to do an "internal clutch adjustment"
search for that on here, i know theres DIY's on it
did you have the bottom end apart ???
if so did you make sure the ball bearing was in between the 2 actuator rods ???
