Alright so i align the notch on the left side cas where the clutch shaft thing is with the pic that u have of a dot and line? I am attatching a pic of what i think your talking about. and i appreciate the help and rainy pics!

your pic did not come thru, no problem.

Mine does not line up, cuz when I did mine,I didnt have my clutch cable on. and when I did install mine, it pulled it forward. like you see. but it works fine.

If you get it close, you shoul be okay, if you cant get it right on.

So far it seems like it pulls in best when the screw is turned all the way in. The notch is at a 90 degree angle to the shaft

I mean im just not totally sure what your talking about. It is the little arrow on the shaft am i correct?
K, lets try it this way.

when you turn in the bolt / The center smaller one on the clutch, it lengthens the rod. Pushing the clutch actuator (lever) on the left side case back. the more you turn in the smallr threaded bolt on the clutch side (righ side).

It will made the lever on the let side, push back, towards that arrow !

If you turn it as fasr as you can and still your clutch does not ingage, you need new fibers likely.

But my understanding, is you are getting it to engage now, correct ?
Naturally if you turn it to far, you can not get the bigger nut back on it. Thats what I mean, then you would need new clutch fibers.

Think of it like this also, turning that smaller threaded screw in, make more pressure on the rod / clutch.

If the clutch is to tight, then you do the opposite. back off the threaded screw.

Your clutch lever ( left hand handle bar). should egage the clutch, about 1/4 to 1/2 way in, as you pull the lever in, towards the handle bars.

What was yours like before ? were you having to pull it all the way in ? and when you took off in 1st gear, when did it dis engage as you released it ?

See where I am going ? trying to explain ?

Put it in gear, pull in the clutch, dont have to start it. to check this.

try rolling forward with the clutch lever pulled in ! does it roll freely ?

and if you , while rolling it forward, as you release the clutch lever, when does it start to drag or not roll ? where is the clutch lever at,when you do this ?

K, i just replied to your previous reply, so hope my long reply helps you.

If you got that screw all the way in and its working good. hope you can still put the nut back on.

Now, keep in mind, this also tells you. time for new clutch fibers!

You might be able to ride some and get buy for a bit, but, new fibers are due !

Well the way i got it the center screw was too loose because when i pulled the lever i had no resistance. Now with the screw all the way in it definately engages but when i roll it the engine turns over?

if you have that screw all the way in, and you in gear and the clutch lever on the handle bar is pulled all the way in.

If it is not free rolling, then you need new fibers.

Or my local bike shop have a set of clutch plates that would work? Unfortunately my local bike shop has to order everything as they dont have it in stock.

What if I just got the vitos clutch kit with new springs and everything? And do I need to buy the clutch removal tool?

Ya the vitos kit, would work also.

You do not need the clutch removal tool, to change and replace plates and fibers.

Thats only if you are taking off the whole clutch / basket to replace a gear or crank seal.

Just got the vitos. Do you think the fibers is the whole reason it wasn't working? Btw I never was able to get that notch to line up
