I have a 2002 Yamaha Blaster the clutch will only engage when the blaster is running. The cable snaps on a regular basis I am tirerd of replacing it. Does anyone know what is going on. If it needs adjusting where do i adjust it and how. I have a Clymer manaul is there anything in there that willl help me fix this problem? Thanks

You probably have a welded clutch ball causing the shaft to drag.

You *probably* need to pull off the clutch cover and yank the clutch apart to confirm.

Also, the pointed end of the clutch actuator arm, when properly adjusted, should point straight at the "boss" cast into the case. You adjust the actuation point by loosening the nut in the very middle of the pressure plate and screwing the phillips head "bolt" in and out to adjust the push rod overall length.

i had a problem of the end of my clutch cables fraying off all the time. i had to take the clutch leaver off and sand down and clean all the edges inside the cable section of the leaver. Deffinitly check what civicdude mentioned before
