i think it can be replaced...u talkin about the lil brass lookin gear on the backside if the basket right? i have one u can have...

I think he be talkin about the small one thats behind the clutch basket,if so yes you can replace it.
and i think you can replace the big drive gear too ill check it later i have one broken clutch basket that im going to try to get it out of it.

Your best bet is to get a used one from ebay . I:I . I had to replace my basket and it wasnt very fun.I put the old gear on a new basket

Wow, got some good conversation with that one. Its the small 2- 2.5 inch gear under the basket. The engine kicked back and took out a few teeth. I have a second basket that had the same problem and if someone can tell me where I can get this gear? I assume it cab be heated and dropped into placed or pressed in? Anyway , I am all ears. I just added the tors elimination kit and adjusted the slide so it bottoms out. But can some one tell em about the drill and tapped idle screw. hod does this thing work. I am new to quads and this was my first big project and I removed every nut and bolt on this quad including crank replacement. Any tips why this would be hard starting, please chime in. I did have it running for 20 minutes but it had no idle with the tors assy connected.

no you cannot replace the big gear attatced to the basket

Yes you can, I just did it last week. All aftermarket baskets use the old gear. You must drill out the rivets, and the supplied hardware is used to attach it. This is the case with Wiseco, and Hinson baskets. This will not work with a stock basket though, unless you have the means to re rivet it.

well i didnt know if he was going aftermarket or had an aftermarket basket. i dont think you can replace the big gear on the oem basket without drilling and tapping holes

Hello all, I have a stock basket looking for a stock gear, I would appreciate a P/N and a uick procedure or do I buy one from ebay and take my chanced. this is the smaller 16 tooth gear. iI have 2 stock baskets needing these gears

On the carb, you'll have to drill and tap a hole to put a idle adjustment screw in. It should have come with the kit. Without it you will not be able to adjust the idle.
