Cluch arm backing out?

I took the blasty for a quick ride and when I looked at the clutch where it attaches under the carb the arm was up off the cases. It was sticking out at least 3/8s of an inch. I pushed it back down and worked the clutch and it came out again. I dont know whats going on here.

thats an an odd one for sure, wonder if the seal has anything to do with holding it down in tight ???? there is nothing that holds it in, if you disconnect the cable it will pull right up out, maybe have to do that and and check the condition of the groove on it, where the rod pushes ???
have you done any clutch work or adjustments lately ????
how bout the cable slack, it isnt adjusted too tight ???

I would check the spring on the shaft. I beleave that's what helps hold it in. It may be broke or bent out of shape.

You may be on to something there with the cable being too tight. I adjusted it the other day because I lifted the bars up. I must of adjusted it too tight. I have a new seal I can throw in there too while im at it.

same thing happened to mine. just loosen the head bolt where the clutch bracket is and slide it foward a bit. then tighten it back. but mine scared me i had NO gears. bnut i fixed it

dakota may have nailed it also, the spring does actually clip onto the case

Spring came off the clutch arm! This site is great always has an answer.
