So when i bought my blasty she had no spark, needed a new stator. We replaced that and got it running but i soon found out why it needed a new stator. Between the left side stator cover and crankcase, at the bottom, is a chip, its missing a small chunk. They must have gone riding through water or something and filled that stator side with water. It works now but i can not go play in water or mud, which is a killer :( a left side crank on ebay is fairly expensive, and a bit of work to! is there a cheaper easier fix to this? Also is it bad for the motor? I have seen some of the guys on here talking about airleaks and how it can seize up your motor. I cant get pics right now, maybe later tonight or tomorrow.

Yes its bad to run your motor with an oil or air leak as both with result in the same damage , fried rings ,broke skirt Etc etc , I would not run your quad until you have fixed the case and then leak down test , Slickerthanyou makes and sells a leak down tester and its worth the price of a top end rebuild or maybe more damage !
