well we know i went ahead and changed my rings earlyer but i forgot to mention the top of the piston was charcoal black.
my question is whould that be from the pilot or the main jet?
and the reason i ask because im not having any luck getting the 155 main but they do have a 48 pilot.just wondering if the pilot i have is causing the piston to turn charcoal black(58) or is it the main(145).
even if i order em today i dont want to be sitting here with my thumb up my ass all week end
(not litteraly with the thumb deal lol)

It's normal for the crown of the piston to be dark from coke. Total loss oiling will result in a black coating...

It DOES sound like your pilot jet is large and 48 might be closer to what you need. It's an unusual combo, 145 main and 55 pilot... I would suspect the jetting you're onto (155 main and 48 pilot) will be much closer.

34mm pj
45/48 pilot
155 main, 162 in the cooler months <(below 45 degrees)
dgh needle, middle clip

i actually looked and i dropped to the 45 pilot last year, airscrew under 2 turns out,
starts 1-2 kicks with the choke on when cold, and 1 kick every time after warm up

i also use the cable to adjust the idle, turning that POS choke knob idle makes it boggy ???? so i just deal with the high rev when i turn the bars to the left ????
