Ok before i go any further.. im not looking to make any more power out of my blaster.. does the job for the riding i do.... anyways i want to just change the silencer.. due to i would like a little nicer sound out of it, but like i said im not looking to gain power, just a little louder and better sounding..

any recomendations on brand and style just for a sound change?? fmf power core2??? dg? and would jetting changes be needed for just a silencer swap??

fyi lid removed vertex piston. diff reeds 18 inch rear tires.. injection removed and i run 32-1 premix with permium and amz oil intercepter

I run an FMF pipe and use the stock silencer. It's slightly less noisy, slightly. I ride through neighbors property, and if it was a little bit quieter I wouldn't mind ripping through there at all hours of the night like I'm used to with 4 strokes. I feel bad cause the trail that leaves the back of my property goes pretty close to a guys house who lets me cut through his property, so I tend to just stay in my back yard if I'm riding at night, or rip down the road.

yeah louder.. stock exhaust isnt loud.. ya gotta remember im usedto a 85 atc 200x with a full dg rcms exhaust with NO packing it it!!!.. meanest sounding semi stock 200x i ever herd!
yes im strange i like to hear my mahcines running.. i wont even drive a car unless i can hear the exhaust! its wierd.. its like i dont know what the car/ bike is doing unless i can hear whats going on threw the exhaust

why wouldnt you want it with a bit more power????between the fmf and Dg go with fmf, dg is kinda like stock.

because its fast enough for me the way it sits.. and pulls like made all threw the rpm range.. and the fastest quad i ride with is ether a modded 400ex and astock preditor 500.. oh which i know i cant semi keep up with them due to the ppl that ride them....

beleave me i tossed around the idea or rejetting it and running adrag pipe just to make sure im herd! but the way i ride i would end up breakin it off the foot peg mount since im all over the sides of the bike when riding

you could get a regular pipe that fits in the stock location. It just seems to me like buying a new silencer with the stock pipe is kinda a waste, but if that's what you want to do, any aftermarket silencer should be a tad louder than the stock exhaust....although it sounds like yours is gutted....so maybe not??

The pipe is actually what makes the noise in a 2 stroke. The silencer, well, it's supposed to silence stuff a tad, but the silencers don't do all that much IMO, other than direct the exhuast out the back!! Like i said before, with an FMF fatty gold on my blaster, I can just barely notice a difference, a very small difference, in sound with the FMF Power Core II vs. the stock silencer.

Oh, and whatever changes you make, you'll want to change the jetting for maximum power. With the stock injection system you will probably not blow anything up due to drastic changes, but you will not be taking advantage of all the power that is there if just the air/fuel mixture was correct. Jets are like 2-3 bux each.

*actually, $ 2.89/each from jestrus.com http://www.jetsrus.com/main_page.htm

ok... well.. hell.. i guess running a full system wouldnt hurt none! i do like the ping ping ping ping ding ding ping ding ( lol ) sound they make with a nice system on it... been checking out vids on youtube and seems i like the sound of the dmc alien system the best.... what size jet would you recomment for my set up??

remember im trying to keep it as reliable as possible!! ( if thats even possible lol )

blasters are reliable no matter what.....lol

You don't really need a full system...but if you're running a stock silencer with the core removed and you need to ride places where they require spark arrestors, then you should get a silencer with a spark arrestor. Pick up another stock for cheap!!

From the sounds of it you just want a pipe. I can't tell you which one is best....I have FMF fatty and people say it's one of the worst for the blaster, but it's definitely better than stock!!! With the FMF fatty and a stock silencer, it's plenty loud...definitley that 2stroke sound!

Reliability has nothing to do with jetting...other than if you run too lean, you can blow the motor. Proper jetting is key, irregardless of what you have for exhaust. Proper jetting = maximum power! Do you have the oil injection removed?? REmoving that and pre-mixing your own gas, as long as you remember to pre-mix, is the most reliable way to go. Otherwise, you're not going to be affecting relibility with a pipe.

Throw that pipe on there, buy a handful of jets, a new plug, and start seeing which jet will do best. There are so many factors involved that not even the most experienced experts could just give you a jet # and be correct. However, you probably don't want to run anything smaller than 260-270 (depending on your intake, yada yada) and I don't know how cold it gets in fond du lac, WI, but I'm sure it isn't tropical, so 300 or larger wouldn't be a bad starting point.

Check DIY for how to jet. It's easy, but time consuming.

well.. this is how mine is set up.. going by recipts and what i know and see... air box lid gone, motor rebuilt and cyl bored for new vertex pistion.. stock exhaust.. no spark arrestor , oil intection removed, i am running 93 octain premium mix 32-1 with amz oil intercepter 2 stroke oil ( prev owner was running friggin lawn boy 2 stroke oil it in ( WTF) . lil bit of ahealthy oil smoke from exhaust..
with my 250 pounds on it leaning forword just gettin on the throttle it will pull the front tires 6-8 inches off the ground LEANING FORWORD!!! so its def no pooch the way it sits.. im not even sure what jet is in it now but seems to be running great the way it sits..

lawl sorry I have to laugh cuz you say jetting doesnt affect reliability..then you say stuff like " oh but your motor COULD blow up......" and "Proper jetting is key"

i know proper jetting is key for optimal power AND keeping the motor from turning into a time bomb!!.. im kind a firm belever in a lil more oil is ok! i would rather change plugs than blow the motor up

forgot to mention the 6-8 inch wheelie up by hittin the throttle was in 3rd gear!!... trying to figure outt he jetting stuff.. clymers book says 230 jet for cold weather.. and some people are sayin 270-300.. so whats what?

Well with jetting all sort of things have to be takeing into account, the temp, your alt. whats been done to the bike. The sizes these guys and the book list are basic starting points, the trick to getting the right jet is to install and test.

ok.. well lets start here than and see if someone has exceriance with simmaler set up and rider size.. 5 11 250 pounds no air box, vertex piston, 18 inch tall rear tires ( beleve stock sprockets) uhh... mostly trail rider. but i like my donuts and the occasional drag race.. not sure of elivation.. wisconsin lol...

quad runs and rides great the way it sits. so not gonna mess with it tell spring but trying to get some idea's before hand
