Ok so i had this issue awhile back but i ignored it and just put on the 40 tooth rear sproket with the 14 in the front.

my issue is, when i have my the 38 tooth pbi sproket on the rear, the chain will not seat properly in it. it will only sit around just around 1/3 and after that, it wont sit. i didnt even notice this along time ago when i first found out, so i went to ride it for the first time after the big rebuild to hit the gas and the chain just jumps. even the slightest bit. so i just used the stock one, with the new chain and maybe thinking the chain would maybe stretch a bit to possibly fit, but no after a bit of riding it over that time, it still does the same sh*t. its pissing me off because its holding me back. i want the 38 rear but i cant use the damn thing. help? ill maybe get pics tomorow or something to better describe my issue, but i think you get the idea.

note: 14 front, 38 PBI rear. stock 40 rear works perfectly with the 14 front. new did non o ring chain. chains the right type. 38 tooth rear is right, it was from project blaster.

i wished i could help you.. maybe yu need to take a link out or add a link to the chain.. other then that if the chain doesnt seat right maybe your chain is wrong or the sprocket is wrong..

i think they sent you the wrong sprocket, if the stock one works and the pb one doesnt then it has to be the sprockets wrong, check the numbers off it if it has any, see if its the right one

I know you don't wanna hear this but get yourself a different brand 38 tooth sprocket. I've got a tag rear and haven't had any issues. I think that its either the wrong sprocket that they sent you or there tooling was f'd up when they made it and it should have been sh*t canned but instead they sold it. jmo.

I agree because I run a Vitos 38 rear and I had and have not a single problem with it since day one.

stroker i dont think thats what he wants to hear, but it could e very true. i would call and raise hell with PB. its not like your an idiot, and dont know how to put on a chain. did you explain to them that your 40t rear fit just fine?

Obvioulsy when you narrow down what is wrong with the problem it is the PB sprocket. Stock works fine w chain and as soon as you change to 38 it doesnt work....That right there tells you that it is the new rear sprocket.

iight thanks. ok not what i wanted to hear, but my dads been saying the same thing. i just cant belive a company can make a (expensive) product out of spec and still sell it. ill be calling pb up for a return or something.

doesnt it say you might have to grind down some of the sprocket holder around the bolts?

wana explain that a bit more/different please? i dont quite understand what your saying, but if modding is required, then that may be my problem.

yea, i thought you had to grind down the metal on the ends of the fingers on the sprocket holder, you know its like a quarter inch of metal after the bolt. I thought you had to grind it down a little bit but idk now because it does not say anything on project blaster's website
