I'm buying a new sprockets and chain, my gearing is gonna be 14/40. What length chain do I need? 94???

Im interested why you chose a 14/40 ratio, its not the best ratio for get up and go, which you need for MX.
Cause I have 18" tires... Lol thats y. Too me, it has way too much torque. The front wheels lift off the ground just by jamming the throttle. Not even trying to wheelie. And I need new chain anyway.

I use 18" and a 12/40 ratio, and forget about first gear, hole shot in second.
You really can feel the difference in the higher gears, coming out of the corners, and setting up for jumps, I have to change a little more often.
You dont need the speed for MX unless there are long straights. I have never got to 6th gear yet.

yea i know, u dont need the speed, but its there if i want it. and for some odd reason, i cant accelerate in 2nd gear froom full stop. it bogs too much. but i also have 13/40
well one, its not a toomey, its a fmf gnarly pipe, and 2 no cause it is still leaking, and eaither way i wont get a good start, cause there is no powerband. still waiting for my flange in the mail..... should b here monday. the thing is tho, that i wont be racing at one track only. ima be at a bunch of tracks. so they will change. so what do u think the best gearing would be? 12,13,or 14?
i think ima stick with stock gearing of 13/40. im a lighter guy (120lbs) and i think if i work the clutch and lean far enough foward, i can holeshot in 2nd.
