Before anyone says check the link count i have it is 92 the old chain was 92 . So my chain on the blaster was so stretched it sagged like a 90yo womans tits yeah it was that gross the chain tension screws were maxed out so i loosened them to allow the rear axle to move forward and i can't seem to get the chain to go on this i have tried everything to give that last little bit of rear axle forward and nothing i am wondering if there is a trick to this. i have put chains on all my bikes and dirt bikes but this is killing me. help help

Silly question but have you replaced the sprockets, a new chain has trouble mating with worn sprockets, and can give the impression of being tight.

Yea, I would have to agree. Never use a new chain on old sprockets unless you want to ruin a brand new chain. If by chance that chain is shorter link wise i would drop the rear to a 38 to avoid buying another chain. You didnt mention changeing sprockets and i assume you havent. That new chain will not run true on worn sprockets. Sprockets are cheaper than another new chain for sure.

yeah i haven't bought a new sprocket i looked these over before i bought the chain and there both in good shape no fins or broken teeth . it seems like that rear axle hasn't even moved at all its so close i can't stand it.

Its your call but if that chains worn out the sprockets are getting sharp and wore out as well. The chain will make clicking noises and not run true if you push it in neutral after installing a new chain on even slightly wore sprockets.

Not sure why you want to take a short cut here when it might cost more in the long run not to do it right. Not haveing broken teeth and looking good dont mean there ok. I just replaced my chain and sprockets because of a wore out chain, my sprockets looked fine as well but i know the result of chain short cuts. My teeth were not even sharp from wear but i aint taken a risk of tearing up a case or a shift shaft or more. Pay now or pay later as well as have a chain give you a much better life.

yeah i am just going to get a new sprocket set tomorrow i still need to put on my 400ex shock and new clutch cable thanks for the help guys i should have just ordered a new set when i got the chain

did you loosen both the top and bottom bolts on the axle? Should be able to just push the axle forward with both the top and bottom axle/carrier bolts loose. Kinda hard to see the bottom one. It is tucked way back there. I did that the first time and thought what the heck I can't move this thing.
