ok guys i dont have any spark, i have tested everything i can think of, the stator was bad= i replaced it. still having problems, im pretty sure there is no way to test the cdi, but by messing with it i found that on continuity there is a .68 between the black/red and the all black wire in the cdi box . im thinking this is my problem as i get power from the stator to cdi, but not out. but what is up the the continuity?

if it is the cdi id get a ricks it is cheaper than stock and iv had mine for about 3 years and no problems yet

just got back from the salvage yard, tried 5 diff. cdi boxes nothing changed. i still dont have spark. i guess im going to rewire this thing and start over again

Check your switches. When turned on, both of them allow current to pass through to ground. When switched off on either side, it kills the ground and the spark system fails.

Try just grounding the CDI to the frame and bypassing the switches themselves.

got that figured out, who ever removed the tors didnt do it right. i made my own harness now i have good spark, tried starting it, no go. now i need reeds. hopefully the salvage yard is open sat mabey i can still get some riding in this weekend

Have you leak tested and compression tested?

got my reeds in and it fired right up, 10 bucks at the salvage yard. now after i get the rest of the bugs worked out i might buy a new good set of reeds. and a pipe is going to be a must i hate the sound of this stock pipe
