ok iv got a 89 chevy caviler it has been sitting for 10 years my mom told me I could have it if I get it running so I put a battery in it and put some gas in the motor and it fired right up but couldent keep itrunning so I bought a new fuel pump and inline filter and fuel pump filter and cleaned the tank and I put some gas in it and it woln run its not getting gas from the tank to the throttle body any ideas im gonna check all of the fuses and relays tomorrow

Check the gas cap vent .....start up with the cap off for a short time. Look for kinked / blocked EVAP hoses.

Make sure the pump is running ...listen at tank and make sure fuel filters are going in the right direction. Check fuel pressure with gauge for correct pressure .

also make sure the fuel pump relay is working properly. and since it sat for so long, you may want to go threw the wiring fron to back to make sure nothing has been chewed threw or corroded threw.

Id also change spark plugs and oil, if its slugy oil engine wont want to turn freely. When you turn key to accessories just before start listen for fuel pump to prime, if it is you may have air leak in line or gummed up injectors

Sitting for so long it could have developed an air lock in the fuel lines, it may pay to bleed the manifold that feeds the injectors, there should be a screw or union that you can loosen and bleed whilst cranking the engine over.

Start with checking power to pump when key is turned on. If not, check fuses, relays, and safety switch. Safety switch(relay) kills power in rollover/accident. On my son's Escort it kicked on a real rough road.
Track wireing looking for green weinies (corrosion). Check fuel pressure regulator. Should be a shrader valve right by it, with key on push valve see if gas sprays out. If it has a vac hose, pull hose and look/smell for gas.
I hate "newer" cars. Everthing is so interconnected it makes me puke.

Lots of times a vehical setting is worse than if it had been driven.

Post what you find, what you have done, we'll go from there. Good luck!!
