Case HELP!

Hey I recently blew something up in my transmission and it made three holes in my left case. I heard that you can't use one side of case with another off a different motor.

Is this true? It would mean I would have to buy both left AND right sides of case. When only the left side got damaged. If you have any experience with this stuff please let me know if this is true.

Also I was wondering if I could get the holes welded.

Cases are machined as pairs from the factory. What you need to look for is that the cases are level where the cylinder mounts to them. Not a big deal if they don't match but you're going to need to get them machined if they don't match. Let me know if you need help.

Soo if I were to buy one off this site from someone, I would have no idea wether it would match up or not?

Well someone on here is selling my the two sides of the cases. But I need to find out what is wrong with the transmission. How hard would it be to take it all apart and find out what's wrong? Should I get an expert to do it?

If ya never did it before I'd have someone mechanically inclined experienced- taking it apart is the easy part putting it together correctly is the trick buddy. I haven't tried to assemble one yet but the next time im gonna give it a go.

it may be in your best interests to buy a complete running bottom end and put your top end on it, or even a complete running motor. then tear this one apart for the experience

we have used diffrent cases and everytime we have to mod them just abit......usally its by the counter balancer somewhere

Does it look like anothing would be wrong with my clutch stuff? Cuz I can get a whole bottom end for 240$, except it needs an inner clutch hub and basket. Please let me know if you think anything in my clutch is broke

if ur clutched worked fine then you shouldnt have a problem

I can shift from neutral to 1st but from 1st it only goes to neutral, but from neutral I can go into 2nd and all the other gears i think

is the engine in the atv still?if so you gotta rock it back and fourth and then it should go but if its out then you will have to turn ur sprocket while you shift it

Its in the bike, rock it back and forth and do what? just try and shift?

yea rock it and shift it.it should shift fine then.if not you gota some problems
