case half oil leak

Scuff it up good, get all the oil off, clean it with brake cleaner, and go to work with the JB Weld. AWK08 likes Quicksteel, too. I've never used Quicksteel, (probably works great), but I do know that JB Weld does the job, provided you don't have a huge leak and prep the surface properly.

I had an '89 Banshee engine with the back half of the cases held together with JB Weld. It had blown a chain and had some pretty ugly damage. I rode it like that for months and never had an issue. Just remember that this is only a temporary fix...

If its just where the 2 halves meet, clean it very very good first. Then clean it again lol , then apply some high temp rtv to the area and let it fully cure before you go riding again. That should pretty much stop the leak. Jb welding the cases together is ok but would be a major pain in the ass when you have to split the cases again.

agreed. thanks guys. thats kinda what i was thinkin if thats the prob i think im haven:/

nagh....just blast it with a heat gun and it will chip off easily, its a cheap simple temp, quick fix. you will have to turn the engine upside down though to do it or drain the oil and stand it up on the grab bar.
