carborator question

i just put a new engine in the other day same carb just all cleaned out with a new 240 main jet but everytime i start it with out the choke it is like wide open throttle but when i have the choke on it idles just fine any one ever had this problem??

sounds like your pilot jet is too small. That's assuming you don't have an air leak.

what size pilot jet would you suggest ill buy it anyway even if its not the problem

Yeah Frank, that sounds hella lean. When you pull the choke, it is adding a lot more fuel, possibly masking the real prob. Check your pilot jet, it might be partially blocked. If not, make yourself a leakdown tester or buy one from holeshotman.
