Carb/Throttle Valve question/HELP

Hey what's goin on everyone ? Just a quick question about my stock mikuni carb/throttle valve, at the bottom of my throttle valve where the needle is one side is like tapered and doesn't go as far down as the other side. Should the tapered/opened side face towards my jug/motor or face towards my air filter/intake ? I would assume it makes a difference which way the tapered/opened side faces would make a difference but don't know for sure. I'm trying to test out some different jet sizes and getting plug chopping but wanted to first make sure everything is done/installed properly first. Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks

You cant get it wrong, it will only fit in the carb one way, ramp to the outside, filter side.

There is a peg in the carb and a slot in the slide and they mate.
