I have a 1996 blaster that will not fire with out the throttle engaged, also will not stay running when throttle is disengaged. i was told something about the switch assembly that sits right on top of the carb, and that it is the problem. i looked at new switches and they are about $300, does anyone have any experience with this, maybe a way to rebuild/bypass this switch?

if its not your idle screw on the carb that is missing or maladjusted, then it is your TORS (throttle override system) its a "safety" feature on blaster to kill the spark if the throttle gets stuck, they OFTEN go faulty and cause issues...

there is a very nice DIY tors removal thread, il quickly find it and post it here

For $300 you could put dual carbs on it.:o You can just unplug the box in the front. I would clean and lube the "brick" on top of carb if you don't do complete delete with top, cable, idle screw. Also lube throttle and cable. If Blaners lincs don't show it, do search. I:I

BTW, I had the system fail (malfunction) and all it was doing was a little light rain.
