I just picked up a stock carb for next to nothing, and while cleaning seen a screw opposite and a little lower than choke. It is turned in all the way. What is it for? choke?

The one positioned left of that doesn't turn. That's what has me confused. I can turn the one in the circled port.
possibly can be removed for better cleaning of the choke circut, but it's nothing that gets adjusted, be sure it's in there tight after fooling with it.
i have to have a look see next time i'm down the shop.
