:-/I was cleaning the carb and when i pulled the oil line from the pump to the carb it broke ordered a new one and there on backorder my question is can i run a normal oil line thats the same diamater and lenth instead of going with yamaha also I dont want to get rid of the oil inject I do alot of trail riding and dont want to have to keep mixing

yes any fuel or oil line that diameter will work fine.

be sure to bleed the pump when you install the new line, aslo you have to fill the line from the pump to the carb before you run it.
some people prefer to use a clear hose and suck up oil in the hose like a straw then hold your finger over the top so oil oil wont run out while you attach the end to the pump then the other end to the carb.

the pumps are a simple worm gear... they dont fail.
lack of maintenace and idiots that force the cover on and break the drive gear cause injection failures

not saying mine ever failed. im just saying alot of guys on here say they fail so i will trust people on here and not run mine. i even have all my oil injection stuff including a extra right side engine cover with oil pump and bottle. if anyone wants it

Ok good Ive heard people say they fail and blame the plastic gear but I know yamaha they wouldnt put a plastic gear in something expecting it to fail it like what yfs101 said start messin g with things and bad sh#$ happens

Should I bleed the oil pump to? I only removed the hose going to the carb also all I have to do is fill the hose with oil and Im good right?

I replaced the oil line with some I got at the auto parts store primed it and it works fine.

Hey guys, I am heading out try to pick one of these up today. The end that attaches to the carb is shot and I've already cut and re-set it with a fresh end too many times so I'm running out of space to do it again (brittle and keeps splitting). I wanted to just couple a new line onto the existing one so I don't have to replace the line where it enters the engine. Anyone know the exact size of this thing internal diameter? I measure 0.5cm external diameter. Thanks.

Do not splice the oil line. you have no way to secure the two lines together. Dont be so cheap replace all of it , It's just as old and brittle down at the pump as it was at carb, plus you won't see if it's cracked there.
