i have owned a 99 blaster for a few months now and when i ride it in the summer it fouls my plug like every ride almost but it takes a while. i dont kno if it needs rejetted or a smaller main jet. i am running regular gas im goin to start usuing premium. i thought the guy said it was a keihin carb but it has trenga racing on the side wit stickers. and when i start using premium do i have to change the oil gas ratio? i run 32:1. somebody help please.

i use klotz r 50 synthetic. it sounds fine when i rev it, and it doesnt idle i think my carb needs cleaned out. and how do u rejet if u have to. im not that good wit carbs.

rejetting involves purchasing a new jet (like $3 for a single jet, or you can get an entire jet kit for $20 - $30). then you remove the current jet, insert the jet of the desired size. can be done in a matter of minutes once you've done it a few times.

when you say it fouls out, what does the plug look like. that will help you determine what it's doing. somewhere on this forum there is a how-to on reading your plug to determine where you are in your mixture.

does it run ok other than idling? you might need to play with the idle adjustment on the TORS unit... but i'd fix the plug fouling issue before i go changing anything else..

the plug when fouled is wet black but that is when i use the low octane gas. it runs fine when the plug is good but when the bike starts to lose power then the plug is about to go. for example when im ridin and i shift in to my high gears like 4th to 5th or 5th to 6th it feels like it doesnt want to go when the plug needs changed. it keeps a consistent speed and i have full gas on it and it wont go faster the rpms stay the same. i did fool around wit idle adjustment, i would give it higher idle but all that does is idle highe when cold then warmed up it doesnt idle at all.
