Hey guys, just picked myself up a blaster yesterday. Its all stock, and has been sitting for quite a while. I cleaned out the carb, put in some new gas and tried to start it. Here's what happens:

It'll start on half choke
run for a few seconds (2-30)
start to bog down and stall.

If i try to start it again, it wont run but it'll instead spit out a big cloud of white smoke from the exhaust. It might be a backfire of sorts, but it makes a "pfffft" sound, or you could call it a hiss. Definitely not a "pop" like i'm accustomed to backfires sounding.

If i try to start it again immediately, it'll do the same quasi-backfire thing.

If you all could point me in the right direction it'd be much appreciated!
(i tried searching, but "hissing blaster" doesnt return many useful results!)

Do you have a constant dribble of fuel when you crack oped the float bowl drain.

If that really is white smoke, you had better leak test before you attempt to start it again the crankshaft seal could be leaky.

ive got plenty of fuel in the bowl, that was my first thought. I forgot to mention that, my bad!

How would i go about leak testing it?

Thanks for the help!

Order one from here about $30 well worth it. Check your throttle compartment where the thumb trottle is open that case and screw in the throttle cable some. Let it run a while with the new gas in it even if you have to hit the throttle a few times to keep it on. This will help clean out that old gas. Also buy a new uni filter and oil it. I had a similiar problem with a blaster I just bought that had been sitting a while
