cant diagnose this! fuel issue?

sounds like something is keeping the reeds open or there just f#@ked up. check em agin
sounds like the same prob i had when my inside reed petal broke outa the cage, would idle but would not rev, just bog and die

i have a spare set of reeds i keep around so ill just swap those and see if it helps. as for how much water. went thru a puddle bout 6-10 inches deep, 4-6 feet long, and i hit it at the top of 3rd gear. i forgot that since i didnt have my plastics on i had no protection for my intake. smart move huh? lol. my intake is a k&n tube style filter.

just swapped my reeds. stiil no change. i just read on here that the TORS can cause bogging. i never took it off. thats next i guess. think that will fix it?

I doubt it's a TORS issue, but it's worth trying, as it is an electrical part that could have been affected by the water.

How do you know that you got ALL the water out of the crank case? It sounds like maybe there is still water laying in there and when it gets whipped up it gets drawn into the combustion chamber.

Have you checked all your connections for you coil, CDI etc? These are also areas that can be affected by water, especially on a bit older unit, or if the plugs and connections are worn or cracked etc.

There is no drain for the crank oil. The drain is for the gearbox only. Water in the gearbox would not cause running problems, as the gearbox and crank case are separate. I think the only way to really get the water out of the crank case is to remove the top end and turn the cases upside-down.

i feel so stupid... changed my plug again just to humor my friend who was helping me work on it. when i changed the plug the first time a grabbed an old fouled plug that i had put in a new box and forgot to throw away. its the simple stuff that gets ya sometimes. also found out i have a mikuni carb. not sure what size tho.

get a 230 main. put the needle clip in the middle notch, make sure the pilot is 32.5 if its a fully stock blaster that will atleast get it running close to right. also did you take the plug out and kick it to make sure theres no water in the cyl?
