Sup guys I'm gathering info all over the forum for my new build soon.

I'm looking to do a big bore kit on my blaster (04') FYI I have a full FMF power core 2 silencer and a fmf gold series fatty pipe.

Here are my questions. If you guys dont mind. Can you please copy the questions and post your answer underneath it or on the side of it.

1. Best big bore kit? Or best kit with the most power.
2. What has to be replaced when doing a big bore kit.
3. What engine mods should you do to "complete" the kit to give it its full potential.
4. Can I install a big bore kit my self? If not where should I bring this to get done.
5. Any other steps needed to complete a full big bore kit would be greatly appreciated thanks.

1. Best big bore kit? Or best kit with the most power. ***Only a few out there, recommend the LASleeve products, for the $$$ (why big bore? go ported/stroker, much better power and pistons easily had)
2. What has to be replaced when doing a big bore kit. ***For one your FMF pipe setup will have to go, then larger carb needed, intake for carb, spacer to clear clutch, etc.
3. What engine mods should you do to "complete" the kit to give it its full potential. ***see above answer and port the ISH outta that kit
4. Can I install a big bore kit my self? If not where should I bring this to get done. ***Can be done yourself, with the needed tools and knowledge, as bike will need to be tuned, etc after big bore and larger carb/pipe installed
5. Any other steps needed to complete a full big bore kit would be greatly appreciated thanks. ***Avoid it, go stroker/port, much more reliable, more power capabilities, parts available, etc my $.02...

Ok then, can you guys knowledge me more on Stroker and ported kits... Thanks alot guys, I'm not the most educated when it comes to things like this...

Can u guys tell me where I can get this sort of things done and all the parts that need to be replaced.?

You do not buy anything for port work, you have a builder of choice do the port work for you. This entails removing your head/jug and sending this to him, where he then flow ports and machines a new design out of your stock head/cylinder. "Stroking" this involves changing out the crankshaft to add height to the stroke, a typical mod for the blaster is +3mm, which will increase cc output to roughly 208-215cc depending on where you are with your bore size, etc. Once this is done it "can" be ran with your stock carb, but a larger CARB is recommended to get the most out of this type of modification. Your FMF pipe setup will work fine with a mod of this caliber, but there are alot of other pipe choices as well to change power delivery, etc, all depends on your liking and riding style, type of riding you do, etc, etc. The FMF gives you a nice low-mid range power curve, great for MX, etc.

A very popular, reputable and great all around builder is Ken O'Connor Racing, he is also a member here on the forum, or check him out at www.kenoconnorracing.com I:I

For someone with very little knowledge, I would suggest boxing up your engine as a whole, and sending the whole thing to ken o'connor. He can do the porting(sick work), true and weld the new +3 crank you will want, and install it. He can pretty much look over everything while he has the motor open too. Very trusting guy and would gladly tell you of any problems with out charge. Not to mention, once you have the motor back, he will help you tune the bike over the phone if needed. He has done this many of times.

But i agree with tech blaster. 240 kits sound cool until you can t get a replacement piston(happening now). Stroked and ported stock bores can run just as fast as a big bore blaster and even faster.

well i was goin to big bore it but i think iam just going with a 40 or 60 over i have a stock jug and carb with fmf full exhust and jets. will have more power than stock with exhust and jet

Don't bore unless it needs it. Boring the jug will not give you any increase in power.
