I just picked this blaster up, and am a newbie to them... Does anybody see anything out of the ordinary? I paid 1k for it, does that seem fair?

Also can anybody explain the unused bolt hole in the bracket by the disc brake?

damn clean bike, 03+ w/hydro's...good steal for a G !!!!!!
and holy shhizzle, not even any frame paint wear down where your boots rub !!!!!!

looks to be a DG header, check the silencer for a tag ????...slightly better than stock, i'd check the main jet and report your findings to us, might need bumped up a size or 2, is the airbox lid on ????

BTW...welcome to the sickness, where you located ????

I'm located in the panhandle of Florida.. Its a FmF gold fatty and matching silencer. Haven't checked the main. Is there anyway to tell what size it is? I'm a newbie lol...

It's a 06 model..and yeah the lid is still on it..

Whats a good starting point for mods?

lets first confirm what ya have, i'd suggest strongly to not run it till you check that main jet, it should be at least a 270,
you'll need to pull the carb, carefully remove the 4 screws to remove the bowl.....
proper size phillips screwdriver, lots of downwards pressure, turn slowly, they strip out easily
after getting the bowl off, the main jet will be right in the center, with a white plastic slash gaurd over it, 6mm socket.nutdriver will reove it, it will say on the side or top what size it is
report that to us, and i'll work on some homework for you

Thanks bro! as soon as I get back to the shop Monday, I will check it out and shoot you a pm with the info..

heres some homework till then....pop quiz on moday !!!!!!! LOL

maybe get a port job at kenoccnor racing as stated above and we need to get you hooked up with some shocks man!! Welcome bro. trust me once you start modding that beast you can not stop. if you get that true or false question wrong on the quiz there goes 20 points automaticly. haha

good point 89........i always do suspension first, as even the stock motor is too much for the stock suspension
you can't control power with sh*tty shocks

Hahaha , damn hopefully i can squeeze out a 59.9 on this test.. Round up to a D please?! lol:-/

Whats some good shocks to go with, and i know im going to open the flood gates of flaming lol but i kinda want to set this quad up for sand drags/asphalt drags.. Grown up around top fuel drag cars my whole life so im kinda addicted to straight line stuff..B)

no flood gates of flaming, if dragging is your thing, so be it
shocks are not important for that, most serious draggers here run solid struts and a wheelie bar
but i'd consider it a shame for that nice of a bike to get hacked into a serious dragger, as most things need removed/shaved to save weight, a bare frame ground up build would be the route i took
