I might be picking up a 250r as a trade for my 440, but i need to know, will i be able to get a title for it with a bill of sale? Because with out a title, the fourwheeler would be useless.

depends on your states laws. some you can, others you need more paperwork. i know here in MD its a huge hassle without a title or certificate of origin. call your local DMV

depending on your state's laws, yes you can.
was able to get one for a rzr. check into your states laws on this though.

That RZR come from Ky or another state that doesnt do titles?

yup kentucky.
we had to get a BOS from the PO that had to be noterized. then had to take the rzr to the dmv, where they run the vin to make sure it isn't reported stolen and hasn't been titled before in ohio. then they gave us a title and a license plate.

i know the guy we bought it from also had to get something from the dealer where he bought it. but this wasn't the dealer the originally sold the rzr.

but call your dmv and ask.

Ohio makes it pain in the ass if it didnt come from a no title state but there are ways around it as long as you have NOTORIZED b.o.s. that has the frame # and the engine # on it.

I have a question... not to thread jack...

I bought my quad from Andrews Cycle in Ohio. I never bought a PA title for it, so if I ever went and sold it would I have to first get a PA title?

it really wasn't that bad, it is easier when you know someone at the DMV.

do you have the ohio title still? is it in your name? if so, you really dont have to get a PA title, but if you are selling it to another PA resident, it would make it easier to sell.

Most likely yes. It is actually illegal to buy or sell in Ohio without a title. Not sure about PA though.

That would be helpful. And its not bad if you are the first one to bring it into the state. That wasnt my case I was like the 3rd owner in Ohio and the others never got a title. So my only choice was to go to each of them and get them to title it (Yeah right) or self assembled. Thats one of the reasons I decided to part it out.

Yeah we have the OH title in our name and everything. Thanks.

what my buddy did[and i don't recommend it] when he got a quad locally with no title was:
1] write up a fake BoS dated a few years back, with the actual vin and two random names saying it was from KY(non title state)
2] get an official Maryland DMV BoS, filled out the VIN and all necessary info, then got it notarized by a friend thats a notary
3] took that and the "original" bos to the DMV and got a title

ya knowing a notary is also a good thing when you buy and sell lots of cars and sh*t with titles lol.
just make sure you dont get caught or your notary buddy will get in trouble.
my dad has done the buy a car, fix it then sell it without ever having the title in his name, you just have the PO sign the title. then you just pass that onto the next owner.

another tip, also lie about the price paid. lower it. less taxes you have to pay. but dont say you paid 1K for a brand new vette or something, the dmv isn't stupid.

okay i guess im dumb, because i cant fin anything. I need to know if it is/ was reported to be stolen( i reallly dont think it is) and i need to know where it was bought. Can someone check it for me? The VIN is JH3TE1201HK102220.

just call up your DMV or local police department and be like, i plan on buying a quad that doesn't have a title. i am wondering if it has been reported stolen before. the vin is blah blah blah. they will let you know.
