can i even do this?

i was looking at my bike and i noticed that on the front end and were the hood mounts i dotnt hink i can mount a 88-02 hood on there cause i think the bracket that holds it on is not made for that year hood. my question is can i do it? i got a 05 blaster and i was looking to turn it into a 90's model. but i dont think the flat front hood is gonna bolt up? will it

i'm pretty sure its been done, because you can convert the 90s look to the newer style so you should be able to do the opposite, you just wont be able to run the headlight

im putting wally world lights on it anyways. but i think the bracket in the front is wrong i looked at other blasters (90's models) and they have a diffrent front bracket the mine doeswitch concerns me cause i dont wanna buy a new hood and find out it dosent fit

the bracket is just for the headlight, thats the only difference

no the bracket for the 90's model holds the front hood piece down. and my bike dosent have it cause its a 05. go look on your bike and the front bolt that holds your hood on look how its sitting. its flat so a bolt can thread into it and hold the front of the hood down. on mine the bracket is sitting vertical to hold the headlight in place. and i cant stand the 03-06 model hoods i hate them!

i'm pretty sure all you would need is the old bracket then
but the hoods also bolt on near the gas tank those are same mounts on all years i believe

you may need to cut/grind/weld if you're that worried about it

there are some people that just use the 2 back bolts to hold the hood on

cant there welded to both sides of the frame. i might put wally world lights on them and mount the 90's hood. but then i still have to do somthing with the one bracket on the front that holds the front piece of the hood in place
