Hi all.

I recently wrote a post regarding noise and exhaust etc. This is the latest update on that case:

The Toomey B1 kit (pipe, silencer, jet, filter) is SOLD!

I sold it today! ...

Now I want a new pipe system. The thing is there are other criterias that matter now! .. Before I wanted the most performing pipe available. And the Toomey was a clear choice! .. But it was very noisy and now its sold.

The NEW criteria is: Low noise, thicker header (so i dont get the high metallic ping like Toomey) and generally a more "bass, deep" sound. (and no im not gonna buy a 4stroke.) I meant the best of the above in a 2stroke.

I know there is a lot that hate FMF, bút they have a cool sound ? Their silencers are also big and nice looking. I dont want a little thin silencer like Toomeys.

So what do you guys vote for? WITH THE NEW CRITERIAS! ... (low noise, nice bass sound, great looks) .. NOT just pure performance.

I guess the header has to be thicker (can you even get a performance exhaust which is still thick steel??)

You are clearly describing the FMF Fatty Gold header and the PowerCore 2 or also Q silencer.

AND, the beauty of it is you will have great performance and also be at 96db on the meter, good to go.

i agree with techblaster, but i would go with the q silencer- it costs a little more but it is much quieter. i would make other recommendations but do not know what is available in your neck of the planet. since i have been involved in import/export for Dometic Corp out of Motalla i know that it can get very expensive experimenting. Plus once you have the q silencer you can see if you can try it on the toomey- if you sold it to a friend- and let us know how it worked. i have found that any of the silencers that have a large canister tend to be quieter- of which i prefer the dmc's sound the best. good luck!

i also just thought about another way to lower your exhasut sound. now this might nt be the prettiest but it will lower the ping from the pipe- wrap it in exhaust heat wrap like they use for auto racing. you would have to use somethin like this for the wrap

and these for securing it to the pipe

or you could use stainless steel wire or pipe clamps.

i wish that i had thought of this prior to you selling your toomey.

f7 has very VERY little ping and it is deep and its a kick ass pipe but u will need some mods and some port work to reach full potential

the silencer is actually part of the stinger length why would you unpack it that makes no sense.

Would a DMC pipe fit my stock header? .. And how is the on the DMC compared to a FMF? .. I really love that design + its more rare that a FMF.

Someone told me what i sold my toomey for:

I Danish currency i gave a little over 3000,- and i sold it for 2000,- that for the entire kit, pipe, silencer, filter, jet, vents.

its a little over 300$ and i gave back then 500$ i think.. The entire kit is only 6months old--- so i think its fair.

yes, i do believe that you can switch out either piece of the stock exhaust with those of the DMC. i will call them and find out. i also like the fact that not many people are using the pipe for the blaster. that is why i think that i am going to sell my shearer and get something else---i like to be different and i am thinking about getting a cpi or ftz pipe. well i am going to give dmc a call and i will report back my findings...

i just spoke with DMC and they told me that you can use just the silencer or the head pipe but you will not see the power gains that the entire system produces. they also told me that the system has tested to around 99db. hope this helps.

don't use header wrap either, it hold heat in. the pipe needs to breathe a bit and let the heat out.....if you buy fmf get a spark arrested silencer, might save you trouble down the road. just a hint. i dont know about where you live, but by me you have to have them in some spots. it will save you form modifing yor silencer, and installing a sparky.

i have learned differently on that in regards to heat wrap. exhaust wrap has proven itself in many types of racing including motorcycle and atv racing. that is why many top racers use it on their exhausts and on other components to protect them from heat- like the fuel system. i have also been told and read that it helps with exhaust flow. i am not sure about 2-stroke applications but he needs a quieter exhaust for his riding club and i would think that it would help.

Ok that sounds great, i am really thrilled with your help, calling companys and whatnot.. thumb up! .. There is only one problem! .. The FULL DMC system.. Says race use only.. so its gonna be LOUD! .. And if they state 99db.. and my limit is 100db.. I wont take that chance.. Then i could have kept my Toomey.

Ill guess i will take the FMF PC2. Nice look and shouldnt be too loud.

You mean a fac 7 rear silencer? Because thats where im gonna start.. with stock header..

Toomey also sounds awesome! .. But they are loud!? So how about Factory 7 aRE they loud? and u mean rear or complete exhaust.
