Hi all I am new to this forum. Today I am looking at a 2001 Blaster for sale. I want to buy it for my 14yr old daughter to ride at the Sand Dunes.

What are some things to look for to ensure I get a sold quad and not a pile?

well welcome to the forum... blasters arent to hard to look over. just make suer its not idleing funny like revving real high or fluttering < good sign of an airleak and that will kill the engine. check the axle isnt bent. parts for these things are plentiful and really cheap so its not like whatever is wrong cant be fixed...

frame cracks. anything looking out of wack/crooked. missing/missmatched nuts and bolts are a dead giveaway of a hack mechanic toolin around where he shouldn't be. swing arm cracks are pretty common if it is ridden hard. but like stated before they are pretty cheap in comparison to most to work on.

make sure it doesn't knock like thunder. blasters tend to knock a lot but they shouldn't be hammering. also make sure it is smoking and not not smoking. 2-strokes need to smoke.
