Looking at buying a used 1990 model 200 blaster engine, .70 over, rebuilt, major head work, has receipts for $3800 in work...will beat a 440 he states...what is a good price for this?

well if its got port and polish and headwork its worth some decent money. but at .70 over you can only rebuild it one more time so that will take a lot of value down. im sure someone else will chime in on this

.70? i wouldnt buy it. That cylinder is going to get hot really fast, once the top end goes again, your going to have to bore it .90 over and then it will even get hotter, then you will just need to get a new cylinder, or get it resleeved.

idk man i ran a blaster that was .090 over and i never had probs with it over heating. i just ran my main jet a tad rich it ran great for 2sets of rings then i went big bore..

The guy has receipts for $3800 in work? unless the motor looks like mine, then he's full of sh*t! My entire motor including the carb and pipe cost me about $3500
Heres what a $3500 motor should look like

That is a nice motor... What's the mod list looking like? But you have to think he might have gotten screwed on labor. 06kid If that motor has been ported and polished, resleeving it would take that away. The sleeve is being ported and polished, not the cylinder. If you do buy it, resleeve it, your going to fork out even more money to have it ported and polished, if thats what you want. I do think its about time for another sleeve in it, but unless you've got tubs full of cash laying around dont buy it. Find a newer motor, one that is on a smaller bore, and go that route. When you spend $3800 in a blaster motor either one of two things has happened... Either that is one bad mofo or you have been screwed on labor and possibly parts. You dont hear that type of number much in the blaster world... 450s? Yeah unfortunately.

i call bs i would like to see this 3,800 in reciepts on this 200cc blaster
it could be done but wheres the proof its smoking 450's ?????

Here's a good way to get started towards a 3800.00 blaster but it would still take a lot mods to make 3800. Airsal 200cc firebreather 934.00 plus shipping (plus you have to send your head in to have it reworked)

This head may need replaced. I'm not sure, it has some pit marks but I dont know what caused them I don't know if it was detonation, casting flaws, or something smacking into the head. I've had several people tell me it should be ok but I'm still kinda worried about it
