Broken Piston?

I have an 00 Blaster, and have had a vibration/weird noise thing with it for a while, didnt think much of it, thought it was my front bumper because only had 2/3 screws in.

Then today, I went on it, and i started to lose power, it stopped, and I went to kick start it and it was jammed, tried to bump start it, it got going then stopped straight away, making weird air type noise, and when I push it in gear, the air noise comes back. Now the kick start goes straight down, with minimal pressure on it

Was thinking compression leak from broken piston?
Or broken crank?

Need some ideas though

had the same thing happen to me. tore my top end appart and my piston was fried and scored the cylinder wall and piston so new piston and a bore and hone. cause the idiot I got it from didn't wipe all the cosmline off and made it sticky. could be a hole in the top of the piston.

Exact same thing happened on mine as you guys described. Pulled the top end appart found a dime size hole.
It's an easy job! Remove the body & tank to remove the head & cylinder but if the piston has shreded you'll need to split the motor to clean out the piston debris from the crank case!

simular thing happened last week and i got it back on its last leg, tore down the top end and bad ring i think=no compression, so im ordering a top end rebuild kit and see what that does, il post results

no its not hard and parts depend on what it wrong. if the piston is scored and wall of cylinder you will need a piston rings wrist pin cir clips gaskets and someone to hone it. but if its just a hole you might get away with just a piston.

I had the same thing happen to me with the kick starter getting stuck but I didn't try and force it. I tore down the top end to find the front skirt of the piston had broken off. I got lucky not having any scratches in the cylinder wall but I did order a new piston kit and top end gasket kit.

If there's a hole in the piston then it prob went lean and the debris prob sit in the case if didn't blow out the exhaust port. You guys ordering those top end kits, i recommend you RJATV.com. John has the best prices and fast shipping! Tell him I sent ya!
