Mine did a similar thing too, but what happened was a crank seal sucked in and leaned it out and also sucked in gear oil. No chunks of piston but my rings were stuck tight to the piston and I had no compression. Also it took out the rod bearing too. So if it seems like an odd tacky feeling in the jug or anything, might have more things going on. Oh ya, 4 strokes you can hold them wide open 4 ever...lol
