ok im getting a little sick of this stuff but my blaster is broken again and i dont even abuse the damn thing..........
anyways i was trying to see my max speed and when i was on the throttle in 5th it was going good then all of the sudden it lost like half its power..
there was no pop noise or anything like that just a loss of power.
anyways i got it home barly.
it will not idle and it doesnt rev very good and the only way i can get it to start now is my pulling it behind something..
my compression used to be like 110psi
and now its at about 27psi and it holds that pressure..

sooo i broke something oh yeah and my jetting was good too...
but i cant think of what it is i need help thanks.
 
Sounds Like The rings to me. But Id check the easier stuff first. I say the rings because it happened to me that same way. good luck. let us know when you find it bud.
 
pull the gas tank off.. and pull the head off........... you should be able to see if there are chunks of anyhting missing, than you onlyneed ahead gasket, check reeds also, can do the same thing if one broke, hows you plug look???
 
ok heres an update its not the reeds..
so i put some 2stroke oil in the cylender and did another compression test.
i got 40-45 psi instead of 27psi soo im thinkin rings..
maybe i had a ring catch on the exhaust port or something hmmm.
 
you cant ride like a zem zem go cart pinned in top gear down the street forever ,they arent made ofr that ,on a 2 stroke its not a good idea to do that yo u must let off after 10 seconds or so cause it could seize
 
yeah, i agree with ya, damn dude, mine is 7 yrs old and i am still on stock bore, its all about how you take care of it and 2 strokes are really finnicky when it comes to bangin the sh*t out of em, i mean i ride the sh*t out of mine but it s taken care of and not ran the sh*t out of for long amounts of time
 
yeah motor on this one is off from a 93 blaster on its origonal bore...
i didnt know you couldnt sit there and run WOT for more then 10 sec that kinda blows....
 
well if yo u have enough power yo u can gear so you would never need to do that becuase youd be going 60 mph at half throttle in 6th instead of pinned screaming

yeah that accually makes sense cause my blaster toped out at about 54mph well according to the gps..
could have possibly done this because the blaster is air cooled??
 
well it leans out at high rpm ,the cooling design effect would probably have little to do with it ,a banshee dirbike or 250r cant be run full thorttle forever either.lean is lean regardless of if its air or liquid cooled

so what your saying is that i may have jetted it too lean??
all the mods i had was a removed boxlid with a K&N.
and we all know the stock jet is a 230 so i bumped it up to a 240 hmm i shoulda tried the 250 i had if thats what your saying or does it lean out at high rpm regardless of jetting?
 
Thats odd, take the cylinder off and look at the piston, (if you didnt already i didnt read the whole thread)
I agree with flotek throw a 14 on the front if you havent already.
and i recently found out that where im located as soon as the quad gets to the dealer they rejet them, thats why i had a 220 jet in mine, stock.
but that was back in 88 haha
