Bought A Digital Micrometre.

hi so i bought a micrometer for to measure my piston and barrel to get size of rings but i was wondering where do you measure them what part of the piston? and also if anyone knows if the ART pistons are well made or would i be better with a wiseco piston?

Wiseco pistons are the best for the blaster.

I hope you bought a decent brand. Usually the digital ones are off a little if they are cheap chinese ones.

What a Wiseco piston???? They are on ebay for around 60-80 bucks shipped.

no i mean the ART pistons? i know the genuine yamaha pistons but i can't find them anywhere so thinking of just buying a wiseco kit.

Yeah man I wouldn't put any other piston in the blaster besides a Wiseco. My buddy runs a Vitos piston and he's happy with it. It also supposedly adds 5HP due to allowing more exhaust port area.

yeah man wiseco it is! just need to sell some things to get one lol iv got a few spares from my old rm so should get one soon

Sweet, good luck! Just to let you know... There is a guy on ebay (summitoffroad) that will bore your jug, chamfer the ports, and send you back a matching Wiseco piston all for $150. He does pretty good work for the price. All you have to do is ship him the jug and thats like $10 bucks in a flat rate box.

That's a caliper. Calipers are more versatile, mics are more precise. Micrometer- New 3 Piece IP54 Electronic Digital Micrometer Set 0 To 3" x .00005" W/ Data Out | eBay . If you're going to mess with most anything mechanical you should own a set of calipers. Always wipe off the jaw faces before you measure with them, stuff you can see will throw off your measurement .001".
