So after taking the top end apart to repair the head gasket I found one of the posts the head bolts onto is stripped. Going to take it to a machine shop to have them put a time sert in it. What is the easiest way to remove the bottom end so I can take just that part of the engine to the shop rather than towing the whole blaster down there? Thanks for any help

there are 4 nuts that hold the cylinder to the bottom end, just pull those off, pull the exhaust and intake/reed cage off and take the cylinder in

after taking the bottom end off should i install any new parts such as gaskets before reasembling it back together?

just unbolt it from the frame.3 bolts.one on the bottom, one thru the swinger and one up front

Do what he said..................

But dont forget to unbolt the carb from the reed cage assembly also. There are some wires you have to diconnect also. Sparkplug wire, the wires from the stator, if the oil injection is still on you have to remove the lines. You will have to remove the clutch cable and the expansion chamber. Oh and the breater lines to the motor.

Dont get me wrong I know it sound like alot but it is very simple.

took the bottom end out didnt run into having to take out the oil injection line and I know it doesnt have the block off kit should i be concerned?

if it doesnt have the block off kit, get one or make one. those things suck. in my opinion they do. i recently just took my bottom end apart to put a new one on, i ordered me a complete gasket kit off ebay for like 20 bucks shipped.
