That's really close to the seam of the actual crankcase, id leak test that thing immediately, if its ok, an its just a small seep from seem at tranny id run it till your riding season is done then split cases an lap an reseal them.

It is the seam is there a gasket there? The dealer rebuilt the bottom end. I might see if they can repair it if not is it hard to do it myself? Don't have much money right now

There is no gasket between the case halves, they are bonded.

The dealer is responsible for it leaking at the join, they must not have lapped the cases to ensure a proper fit up.

One needs a perfectly flat surface, plate glass, marble slab or surface plate.

Tape abrasive paper to it, and figure 8 the mating surfaces using Metholated Spirit as a lubricant.

I cleaned it up and the leak is at the seam of the cases. It only leaked enough oil to barley show up on my fingure

this is exactly where mine is leaking. Isnt there a seal between this and the crankcase. Both would have to be leaking to cause problems for the engine wouldn't they? All the money I have spent on the top end, I don't want to have to do it again. Is there some kind of sealant that can be put on this if it passes a leak test that will hold the tranny oil?

I bought a harbor freight leak down tester. It goes to the spark plug hole though. I guess that will still work, just need to block the intake and exhaust?

It will work, just won't let you know if you have a leak on the intake boot past the reeds, whuch are notorious for leaking
