I'm missing the bottom chain roller on my Blaster... I believe thats what the rattling sound is... (The chain rubbing up against the metal stud).

A couple friends of mine said that I don't need one and that I should just cut it off.

Or I can follow that tutorial on how to make one with the plastic hoses...

Is the bottom roller completely necessary?

You need the bottom roller to stop the chain flogging around, you can use a skateboard or roller skate wheel until you order a proper one.

I make my own from teflon chopping boards using a 50mm holesaw.

Can I use the top roller and put it on the bottom?

ding ding ding we have a winner !!!!
the top one rarely see's any action, it takes a huge jump with a heavy weight rider to compress the suspension enuf to hit that top roller
just throw that top one down on the bottom

they're really quite inexpensive for the stock replacements, and should be done............

or upgrade to the roller bearing style........

Well my top one has a stress crack on it because it looks like its dried out... I'll go ahead an d use that one as a bottom roller for now until I either make one or order another one.

Now, does the chain rest on the bottom roller or does the chain go BELOW the roller?

Thanks for your help!!

Just placed the top roller onto the bottom stud. It makes no more noise!!! Its only a matter of time until I need a new one though because the roller is cracked :(

I'll probably make one by following the tutorial.

Thanks for the help! I:I

well i cant run rollers on the bottom because there is no place to put one i guess over the past 20 somthing years of this bike having the piss rode out of it it broke off

Mud Runner, how has the bike been without the bottom roller?? This blaster is my first quad, I don't plan on doing jumps or anything crazy with it...
