Bore and Hone issue?

Ok guys. Im at .30 over right now and it lost compression. The rings seized to the piston and caused the pison to hit the cylinder wall. it has a small scar. im pretty sure if i make it .40 over, it will get rid of the scar. So im having my local atv/mx mechanic bore and hone it. He's asking $50 for both the hone and bore together. Pretty fair price i thought. So it will be going from 66.75mm to a 67.00mm. Do I tell them just that or what exactly???
 
My shop that does my work also sells pistons and top end kits so they already had a piston to measure. Yours might too.


Ok, so order the 67.00mm piston? which is .040? How nessacary is it to clean the ports up. I cleaned the exterior exhaust port. I didnt get the interior. I put a wire brush on the dremel and sanded down the carbon build up.......
 
They should do all that themselfs, all you should have to do is drop it off and pay them. Just make sure before you pay them that the new piston sits perfectly and all the ports are smooth, that way you can make them fix it.

Well just went to my local engine builder that built my motor back in august. He had the piston and gasket kit for same money as vitos. and all he charges me that and tax. no shipping and handling fees either. He will bore and hone for $50 said and done. I thought that was a fair price. Gonna ask if he will tune it properly too....
