I have an 01 blaster new top end fmf pipes and silencer and new carb kit but cant get it run run right or idle sometimes it will take off after a minute but then starts bogging and dies any suggestions?

What jets? What other mods? What have you tried? What do you think the problem is? TORS still attached? Messed with the idle? Fresh gas? New plug? Compression? Mix or injection? What ratio?

230 main, fresh gas and oil about 24:1 maybe a little rich but new plug , tors eliminated premix gas blocked off oil pump compression is about 130, ive tried the idle screw and air screw no other mods than that just replaced crank seals today im a little puzzled on it at the moment

#230 main is prolly the problem,
.

FMF needs around a #280!

Nothing wrong with 24:1 provided you jet correctly, up one size jet to compensate for the extra oil in the mix. More oil = less fuel (lean).

Start with a #290 and plug chop to confirm!

Well not sure exactly whats wrong with it but I know I got to get new reeds cause mine blew up today I guess they had a bad spot in them so thats one problem I have now so im goin to get new reeds change my jets and see what happens I will get back to you guys thanks for helpin out its greatly appreciated

If your reeds were wore out, it will run like complete crap, which sounds like the problem if they just busted. Make sure you get all the reeds out and that there aren't little pieces left in your cylinder, or you could have major problems

Might sound like a stupid question I have a little bit of knowledge on quads and stuff but what do u mean by plug chop? And yes I will be sure to get all the pieces of the reed out of the cylinder thank you

Plug chop.

Warm up motor to operating temp.

Fit new B8ES plug, ride through the gears and hold WOT in 5th or 6th gear for 10 seconds, or as long as you can safely.

Switch of the motor and pull in the clutch, roll to a stop.

Take the plug out and replace the old one for the ride home.

Carefully cut the threaded end off the plug to expose the insulator.

There should be a smoke ring of a cardboard or biscuit colour around the insulator.

If it is non existant or a very light colour, you are lean and require a larger main jet.

If it is a lot darker you are rich and may go down a size in main.

I prefer to run a little on the darker side, I may loose a little power but it is worth it for the peace of mind that I won't need a rebuild so soon.
