If I leave the air box lid on seems to be fine at higher rpms,
If I take the lid off launches much better but as rpms come up
in higher gears bogs down. It is bored 20 over and has had minor
clean up of the head, foam filter and stock exhaust. Any suggestions?

then if you leave your lid on and raise your needle clip one position it should run just about perfect, if not take the clip up another notch. thats what i'd do

sounds like that bogging is it running lean, and gonna seize if not corrected, we're assuming you're runnung stock jetting since you didnt mention it, anytime you add a mod to the intake or exhaust performance it must be rejetted, or you'll be doin a rebuild soon

i dont think its quite that simple, it seems with the air box lid on he's running rich on the needle and good in the main jet BUT with the lid off it seems he's running right on the needle and lean on the main jet.

that leaves 2 options depending on weather he wants his lid on or off. some like them off for more power and some like em on so they go go through more mud and water.

option 1 lid on move needle clip up a notch. not as much power as lid off but doesnt need to worry about crossing a creek or playin in the mud.

potion 2 lid off go up in main jet 1 size. more power than with the lid on but try not to cross creeks or deep mud and water and clean your air filter alot more often

i should have said that before but didnt think of it since i run with my lid on to cross creeks and stuff
