just picked up a basket case blaster for 500 bucks yesterday, put it all together, and fired it up, got everything adjusted and it seems to run really good, the idle is a little erratic when its cold it seems, but once you ride it for a bit it settles down, the only thing i'm seeing wrong is i've got a whole lot of sh*t coming out of the exhaust pipe , both up near the motor and where the pipe and the silencer come together (FMF Fatty gold full system) , its thick black oil that looks like tranny oil, but the oil in the sight glass hasnt went down at all, any ideas? the plug looks good, might be a little rich, but its close to sandy brown, and the powerband is smooth, cold compression is right around 130 psi , fires right up in a couple kicks, im running Amsoil HP injector oil and will be running Amsoil 10w40 Motorcycle oil in the transmission as soon as i switch, the oil injector is blocked off , mixing around 50:1 or so, TORS is removed.

im talking tranny oil not injection it shouldnt go down unless it has a leak

i know what ur talking about i was saying that that in the sightglass near the crankcase it should go down a little bit becuz the oil in there moves around to lubricate the gears and clutch. so if its not showing signs of going down u overfilled it returns to its normal position after u turn it off.

the oil ur seeing is probably 2 stroke oil from ur mix, excessive idiling causes puddling of oil in the crank case, i had this prob and thoght the main crank seals were bad, turns out it was green 2 stroke oil, and not red gear saver tranny oil, thats why ur oil in the sight glass has not gone down!

i agree with blasterfreek...im running amsoil dominator 2stroke oil and i get some black puddles too...could just be the amsoil but i trust the stuff so im not gonna change. if your not experiencing excessive white smoke and the tranny oils not going down i wouldn't worry about it too much...
