I've got a 95 blaster and was wondering about any good upgrades to do to it. I want to set it up for trail riding in north Georgia. It already has a fmf power core on it, but thats all it has. What about suspension and stuff like that? Also is there any good sites that sell aftermarket parts other than ebay, like grab bars and handle bars and the such? My bike is in pretty rough shape right now and I want to fix it up.I:I

I think fmf is a good pipe for trails, but I could be wrong. Also, suspension you could get some banshee front shocks and a 250r rear shock or something. Maybe some works if you want to go all out. Maybe extend your swingarm a couple inches also, and I don't think you should worry about a-arms if you're trail riding

yeah anymore you can score some used works shocks for just a little more than stock banshee ones, and the 250r or 400ex shocks are great upgrades for the rear.

what i would do if i was you is...
put 14/40 gearing on the blaster stock is 13/40, it will keep you from shifting so much in the trails..
next i would get a 400ex rear shock it will help with the ride alot. (it takes some slight modding but there are ALOT of people who have done it on this site who could help you out)
and for the front i recommend looking for a set of used works shocks, i cant really recommend the banshee fronts cause honestly there not worth the money you spend of them for the ride quality...
the FMF pipe will be fine for the trails..
if you dont ride in the mud alot i would remove the air box lid, and bump the main jet up one size, it will give you a little more power and sound cool lol..
after you do this you should have a much more fun ride in the trails

Thanks for all the help! I'll look for some shocks because I think thats my biggest concern. Whats a good piston for it? It still runs good but I don't want to shatter the piston in it and the guy I got it from said he never rebuilt it in the last couple years. I'm looking for reliability, I've seen some light weight pistons, but will they take the stress of trail riding?

weisco sells the forged piston for the blaster and if you ever go big bore and want a forged piston you would have to get a wossner (sp?) piston..

if it runs good tho i would just leave that piston in there..
get a compression gauge if your that curious and check your compression blasters usually need at LEAST 90-100psi to at least run but people generally freshen up the topend when they reach the 115psi area..

does the blaster have the oil injection still?? if it does get rid of it because it is very unreliable (because of the plastic drive gear)
