when i start her up it runs fine but after a while it starts to hesitate usually in high gear when im not in the powerband so bad i cant even hit the powerband i have to drop down a gear and get in the powerband.i noticed it was easy to kick over so i compression tested it and it was @ 70. so i rebuilt it and there was the same problem.i raised the needle clip and after a while i was crusing the motor locked up so i lowered the clip and it ran really sputtery so i put it back.the plug looks a tiny bit rich. please help me!

ya of coarse! i broke it in over a period of two weeks.it ran like this before the rebuild too

could def be the reeds.
when you rebuilt it, how much did you bore it over? and what kinda piston did you drop in there?

u said it locked up after the rebuild? then your rings are fried and prabably need a new piston to.... again...it acts like an airleak c aused it to run lean and thats why it locked up...

for the rebuild i had it bored (80 over) and put a usa vitos superstock piston. me and my dad checked the reeds they looked near perfect. the comprresion is at about 116 i checked it after the break in

thats still kinda low, last time i rebuilt one ( bout a month ago) it had 135, but 116 will run, my stepdads has 100psi and will run but i think its about done.

after the rebuilt it had 120 psi before i ran it.i will do a leakdown test when i get a chance

Yeah, if it locks up, it's gotta be rebuilt. especially because you could've thrown it into the sidewall a little bit, then your motor will really get jacked up after running it. but if it sputters then it's the air fuel mixture, and you could have an air leak, try running a tusk gasket set, i had a leak in the bottom of my jug once and it messed everything up, but i have had the best luck with a tusk gasket set and it hasn't done it since
