My son was riding his Blaster. It was kind of sputtering around and not driving ride, it sputtered real loud two three times as he tried to speed up then just let out a ton of smoke and stalled and now it wont start. The motor was rebuilt recently and has compression.

Right before this happened the quad was tipped on it's side and driven off a huge ramp to the point is was almost staright up and down. Could this be just a fouyled plug ? Does it sound more serious ? I mean there was alot of smoke.

could have a fowled plug but it seems a little more serious to me. When my quad was spuddering, backfiring, and having trouble starting i had a blown base gasket. Alot of smoke could be the crank seals though. What color was the samoke?

how was it rebuilt? just the top end on an entire crankcase rebuild? if the mechanic went into the cases theres a posibility that he didnt get the seals seated right and it blew one. if it blos the seal to the tranny, that could explain your large amount of smoke.

The smoke was white and it was pouriong out of the silencer like the was afire burning in there. Im pretty sure just the top end was rebuilt. My son only had it 5 minutes before this happened. he didnt even make it to the neighbors mailbox. He traded his polairs which was perfecta nd ended up with this problem. It kills me because I feel so bad for him.

Update : this morning we went out and it started in two kicks ran about 2 minutes, I tried to drive it, it sputtered / backfired and slowly cut out and died.

I called my local dealer. the guy there who is super cool told me to take off the silencer because it's probally clogged, I took that off threwa new plug in and it's running awsome. I left the silencer there and they are repacking it.

you shoulda done the DIY silencer repack. I am glad that you got your problem fixed without having to rip apart the bottom end to replace your crank seals. Replacing the seals actually isnt hard...takes about 30 minutes to get in there and 30 minutes to put it all back together.
