I took my blaster top end off today and realized there is alot of side to side play in the piston is this normal. It ran fine but im sending it out for bottom end work and the guy didnt want me to send the head and all that.

The wrsit pin bosses are not made tight to the wrist pin bearing. That's why crank side to side play is so crucial, that's what keeps the rod centered under the piston.

Perfectly normal but pictures would help to confirm that.

Are you talking with the piston in the cylinder, or out? Should have cylinder and piston measured to determine clearance. If it's excessive, now is the time to bore it. Only bore enough to clean it up. If you're talking piston just hanging on rod there is a lot of side to side movement.
